Kids Dance Classes: Theatrical Dance
There is no doubt that children love theatrics, love drama and love the chance to perform. Their interest in television that is bright, colourful and full of over the top characters is living proof of this. Television shows like Jonas, Hannah Montana and for the older tweens that are into Glee. Theatre, dance and big showman numbers are exactly what most children love and what better way to indulge that than enrolling them in a dance class that focuses on choreography on the stage, on ballet? The dancing that tells a story can be a fantastic way of keeping your kids fit and able.
While dancing for stage may not seem as focussed or a as heavy on technique as some other dance forms, there is a great deal of technicality surrounding choreography. Children can particularly have fun with this particular dance medium as it not only relies upon dancing but acting too. Often the dance moves can seem like a mixed bag of various moves tied together but on from the audience, the whole dance has a flow and a unique fun that can really appeal to the more theatrical of children. The execution of the classes is generally focussed upon building a repertoire of moves and then performing them together to the beat and then to the music. It can take a great deal of rehearsal but telling story through dance can be one of the most satisfying experiences for many children.
Another form of theatrical dance some may be interested in is Ballet. Now while ballet may be heralded as somewhat archaic and an old fashioned dance, ballet is still one of the most refined dance types and requires a great deal of study and talent. The ballet classes are intense but fulfilling however they may not satisfy all children. The reward is that there are huge strides being made in contemporary ballet today which may bring certain methods of teaching up to date.
